Ambassador Programs

Our Ambassador Programs are for high school students in a Health Occupations Program who want to explore working in a hospital in a variety of departments and get paid for their time. This program lets students get hands-on experience in jobs that keep our hospital running.

Ambassadors

 

Ambassadors in healthcare improve the quality of services by promoting communication, professionalism, and participating in essential hospital operations. This program provides high school students with valuable paid exposure to different healthcare departments to build skills and gain experience.

 

More about the program

  • The program is 12 weeks long
  • Maximum of 24 hours a week with 1-hour weekly meetings
  • Shifts are between 4 and 8 hours
  • There are three Ambassador Areas to choose from
    • Clinic Ambassador
    • Surgical Ambassador
    • Unit Ambassador

As a Unit Ambassador you will experience working in a variety of different healthcare roles in a hospital setting.

As a Clinic Ambassador you will experience working in roles specific to outpatient clinics like family medicine or primary care.

As a Surgical Ambassador, you will work in roles specific to surgical services to gain experience in the types of roles necessary to providing surgical patient care like surgery techs or sterile processing professionals.

Shifts for this position are usually 4-6 hours.

 

Eligibility

 

Applicants must be at least 17 years old and a high school student or a high school equivalent (home school, online academies, etc). Will need to pass a background check and drug screen before starting the program.
