Carrie started her career as a scientist, researching cancers and STDs, but was inspired by the physicians she worked with to go to medical school. She feels much better suited for her current career, where she enjoys practicing the full scope of family medicine for patients of all ages, from newborns to geriatric patients. Her passion is reproductive health care—helping families plan when and whether to have children, preventing unwanted or mistimed pregnancies, helping women and families have the healthiest pregnancies and babies possible, and teaching residents and students to do the same. Of course, the real fun of family medicine is getting to watch those patients and families grow up! When she isn’t working, Carrie enjoys yoga, listening to music, playing guitar and flute, and cooking.
